Occupational Therapist

Required qualifications:

• Minimum of a Master’s degree in occupational therapy
• Licensed in occupational therapy valid in the state of Michigan
• Licensed and registered through the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
• Pass a criminal background check
• A minimum of two years’ experience working with children and toddlers with special needs, and preferable autism, in the field of Occupational therapy
• Ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team with other professionals (e.g., behavior analysts, speech therapists, etc)
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and re-evaluations
• Develop plan of treatments for individual and group therapy, where applicable
• Appropriately complete documentation and session notes for patient evaluation and treatment
• Provide feedback and training for staff
• Communicate with families, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members related to the patient
• Meet productivity standard for billable time and supervision
• Evaluate risk management and crisis management
• Develop and oversee transition/discharge plans
• May be required to oversee COTAs or OT interns
